FLOODS IN PAKISTAN
URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP

Heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan have resulted in floods in large areas of the country particularly the Sindh province and have caused immense destruction.

So far, 21 districts have been affected displacing over 5 million people with loss of  141 precious lives. Standing crops on more than 1.7 million acres of land have been severely damaged, 64,000 livestock washed away and around 700,000 houses damaged.

The Government of Pakistan has immediately launched a large scale relief operation utilizing the  available resources. However, humanitarian and rehabilitation assistance is urgently needed to meet this challenge.

There is urgent requirement for tents, aqua tablets, equipment for purifying water, food supplies, medicines and de-watering pumps.

In this regard the government has requested Pakistani community abroad to come forward to help their brethren in this hour of need. Monetary contributions can be deposited in Fifth Third Bank in Consulate General of Pakistan’s  Flood Relief Account No.7238697911 routing No. 071923909.
