The Government of the Punjab intends to hold an international seminar on the Lahore Metro Project in late October 2009, with the following objectives: • Provide project description to the participants and show that
“world-class” work has been done to-date, and project is economically feasible;

• To encourage international donor agencies to provide “low” interest funding, as the project is essential to the “sustainability” and development of Lahore City.

• To introduce the project to prospective construction and related companies to take interest, and propose “innovative” construction techniques to save costs; and
